Bright, pale ruby in color, this elegant, light-bodied dry red wine almost sparkles in the glass. It combines the aromatic intensity and freshness of a rosé with the soft, fruity tannins from the internationally famous Pinot Noir, and the cherry, earthy and spicy characters from one of Central Europe's most decorated varieties, Zweigelt. The hallmark of this wine is the lively, juicy acidity, which gives the wine both freshness and a long finish. It is ideally suited for white wine drinkers who wish to try a dash of red. This wine can be served slightly chilled.

This wine is dying to be drunk with a roasted turkey or duck with some sautéed vegetables. Or enjoy it with a grilled flatbread with mushrooms, tomatoes, sage and ricotta. The winemaker says this is the perfect breakfast or lunch wine, or for when your neighbor stops by to say hello and you just share a bottle on the porch.

WINEMAKER NOTES

The grapes were hand harvested from organic vineyards near the end of September. Fermentation and pigeage took place in large oak casks with one month of skin contact. Malolactic fermentation took place in steel tanks and the wine was aged in big oak casks for six months. The final wine was bottled without filtration or fining.
